First impressions

I'd seen this mascara everywhere on TikTok for months and kept thinking "okay it can't actually be that good." Reader, it is that good. I picked it up from the drugstore on a whim when my old mascara ran out and I genuinely wasn't prepared for how much I'd love it.

The wand is long and slightly curved, which I was skeptical about at first — I usually prefer a straight brush — but it gets into every single lash, even the tiny ones in the inner corners that my old mascaras always missed.

How it performs

I've been testing this for three weeks now, using it every school day. Here's what I've noticed: it lengthens my lashes way more than any mascara I've tried before. Like, my lashes look fake-long in the best possible way. It lifts them too, which really opens up my eyes — I've had people ask me if I have lash extensions on and I have not, I'm just wearing this €11 mascara.

I wore it on a rainy walk home from school and it didn't smudge at all, which I didn't even expect because the tube doesn't say waterproof. I did have one day where I cried a little in drama class (we were doing a sad scene, I promise) and it held up surprisingly well — a little bit of smudge under the eye but nothing dramatic.

Buildable coverage is real — one coat gives a natural lifted look, two coats gives proper drama. I don't think you need more than two though, because it can start to look a tiny bit clumpy if you overdo it.

How does it compare?

I've tried a few other mascaras — the Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk one (which I got from my aunt and cost like €30) and a few other drugstore ones. Honestly? The Sky High beats all of them on lash length. The Charlotte Tilbury gives a slightly more polished finish but it's nearly three times the price, and I don't think the difference is worth it when I'm buying my own stuff with birthday money.
